Housing. Wou wunnt Dir? Ech wunnen zu Esch, an engem Appartement mat dräi Zëmmeren. Ech wunnen do zanter zwee Joer, well et no bei menger Aarbecht ass. (I live in Esch, in a three-room apartment. I have lived there for two years, because it is close to my work.)
Health. Wat maacht Dir, fir gesond ze bleiwen? Ech probéieren, all Dag e bëssen ze beweegen. Ech gi lafen oder spadséieren. An ech iesse vill Geméis a Fruucht. (I try to move a bit every day. I go running or walking. And I eat a lot of vegetables and fruit.)
Sport. Maacht Dir Sport? Jo, ech ginn zweemol d'Woch lafen am Park. Ech maachen dat, well et mech entspaant. (Yes, I go running twice a week in the park. I do it because it relaxes me.)
Languages. Firwat léiert Dir Lëtzebuergesch? Ech léiere Lëtzebuergesch, well ech d'Lëtzebuerger Nationalitéit wëll kréien. An ech wëll mech besser mat de Leit hei ënnerhaalen. (I am learning Luxembourgish because I want to get Luxembourg citizenship. And I want to talk better with people here.)
Food. Wat ass Äre Liiblingsiessen? Mäi Liiblingsiessen ass Pasta mat Geméis. Ech kachen dat heiansdo selwer owes. Et ass einfach a schmaacht gutt. (My favourite food is pasta with vegetables. I sometimes cook it myself in the evening. It is easy and tastes good.)
Notice the shape every time: a direct answer, then one reason or detail with well. Two or three short sentences is plenty.
How to practise these
